Om EuropeActive
EuropeActive is an independent and non-for-profit organisation based in Brussels representing the European health and fitness sector at the EU level. EuropeActive sees its objective to get “More People, More Active, More Often” as a triple-win for European citizens, the EU and the European health and fitness sector.
EuropeActive (previous EHFA) was created in 2001 from a revamp of the European Network of Fitness Associations, formed in 1996. Since 2007, under the chairmanship of Harm Tegelaars, EuropeActive has strengthened its support from major stakeholders involved in the health and fitness sector in Europe, and in 2008 and 2009 secured EU funding from DG Education & Culture of the European Commission to further develop its activities. For more information on EuropeActive’s work, see the Projects and Programmes section of the website. [LINK]
Through its European Register of Exercise Professionals (EREPS), EuropeActive's main goals are to raise standards within the European health and fitness industry and to promote best practice in instruction and training in order to help meet the challenge of rising levels of inactivity and obesity currently facing Europe.
